I am writing this to all those who call themselves "Christians" (followers of Christ). We all tend to think that the faith we now practice is one that follows the model set by the First Century believers in Jesus. This book explores the question of how the Church has incorporated pagan originated practices into itself over the centuries - something that God has prohibited His people from doing in His Word.

Should God be pleased with us when we do what He forbids Israel from doing in His Word? Why should He speak loving and sweet words to us in our unbiblical practice when He sharply rebukes Israel for doing the same?

Written by the late Dr. Hugh J. Schonfield. This is a great book that has been out of print since 1936. It tracks the history of Jewish Christianity since the First Century and why it seems to have virtually disappeared until recent decades - reappearing as the Messianic Movement.

God wants His people to love Him. This is evident from the many passages of Scripture that says so. The question I raise in this book is not so much a question of, "Should we love God?" I believe most people of God can come to an agreement on this point, but rather of the question, "How is loving God expressed by us?"

I think this is where we would find a difference of understanding in our expression to Him. Many of us who love God desire to become intimate with Him and to express our love without reservation to Him. That should be all of our desire. From the Scriptures, we learn that God is a covenant-making God and He is the One who institutes the covenant we have with Him. He is the One who instituted the covenant of marriage in human institutions to give us an earthly touch of what it means to have a covenant with Him and He is the One who institutes the covenant we have with Him: which is likened to the marriage covenant! How then is that marriage covenant we have with God to be walked out? That is the essence of this book.

Exerpt from, "The Moedim of the Lord and their Fulfillment in Messiah Yeshua." The Moedim - the Feasts of the Lord (an essential part of the Torah) literally support Jesus' claims to be who He would claim to be. As Jesus speaks to the Torah Teachers and Pharisees of His day, "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me..." (John 5:39). It is the TANAKH (Hebrew Scriptures) that speak of Jesus and His missions (First and Second Comings) on this earth. In fact, it would behoove the Church of Messiah Jesus to keep these feasts to understand the earthly missions of Jesus even better! Furthermore, observing these Feasts will help the believer in Jesus understand where all this fits in with their lives.
